In the short term technology in the industry will further continue to develop in augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR). On the top of that, e-commerce systems are constantly evolving and becoming smarter, which means that their main goal is to increase sales.
2020 is the continuation of the growing trend in pioneer solutions, which are based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Further development of previously known e-commerce platforms will take place not only on the screen of a laptop, phone or tablet, but also through augmented reality glasses (AR). The new year will probably bring a lot of successful tutorial projects using virtual reality (VR). The effective use of all kinds of IoT sensors in production processes, real-time data visualization and remote communication that allows sending large amounts of data in the 5G standard is another revolution in Industry 4.0, which we will also witness in short term.
Faster, more convenient, more effective - the use of AI in online sales
The development of Artificial Intelligence tools, generating an increase in the scope of marketing activities, will make these departments more willing to reach for the previously mentioned solutions. In the coming year, they will become a necessity on a competitive market. The great advantage of artificial intelligence is the fact that it greatly facilitates the work of marketers, which helps them more effectively predict trends and match products. By continuing, thanks to the algorithms, AI is able to learn and take specific actions based on examples known to it. It uses such systems, even Netflix, to offer its viewers more films and series, based on their preferences. More and more intelligent ChatBots or VoiceBots, which will replace at least the initial purchasing process or after-sales service, will also give small players the opportunity to build a scale effect. An example of this is the VoiceBots network of hair salons Jean Louis David with his virtual assistant Ania Grzywka, arranging clients for visits. According to Gartner, already 85 percent. contacts between the company and the client next year will take place without interfere of people, and 61 percent marketers already consider artificial intelligence as the most important aspect of data management strategies.
In addition to AI, e-commerce sales platforms should also be mentioned, which from year to year outdo each other in increasingly advanced functions. These are designed to engage the incoming user through thoughtful sales strategies, resulting in increased conversion and positive company results. Adobe together with Magento, Sitecore and Sitecore Commerce, as well as Salesforce, which have specialized in the medium and large customer segment, will be the market leader. Online store owners will be looking for more modular solutions that in themselves will provide at least basic purchasing, analytical, marketing and mailing automation functions. By adding cloud solutions to this, they will quickly be able to build economies of scale. The license sales model based on subscriptions will also give smaller stores the opportunity to use the aforementioned global platforms.
5G network and Smart Maintenance and Industry 4.0
5G will have a big impact on the implementation of new technologies in business. The process of introducing this network worldwide is already underway. In particular considering Poland, we are still talking about the testing phase. It is anticipated that in Poland 5G will be handed over to telecommunications operators just before the next holidays, and the network, according to the Minister of Digital Affairs, will cover one of the major cities in the fourth quarter of 2020. The implementation of 5G will involve an increase in Internet bandwidth, which will increase global traffic from networks.The development of this technology will entail the revival of another industry – Industrial Internet of Things, which aims to improve production efficiency and makes it more integrated. Thanks to IIoT, it is possible to predict leaks from pipes, control equipment temperature or gas pressure. Placing sensors in selected systems will allow companies to obtain real-time information relevant for device maintenance, remote diagnosis and repair support. Numerous market implementations in many modern companies confirm the effectiveness of IIoT solutions. An example is a central management network (IIoT) introduced by the American conglomerate: General Electric Company. GE, operating, among others, in the fields of machine and equipment production, energy production and oil extraction, is also one of the largest producers of wind farm engines. The implemented IIoT sensor grid has created a central machine management network. Additional information has made the farms much more integrated. The result of modern solutions was the increase in efficiency and extension of the life of machines themselves, due to better optimized operation.
Smart Maintenance solutions are used today, but the introduction of the 5G network will make us spot them much more often. All of this thanks to faster data transmission and the fact that the network will also function properly when connecting to numerous devices in a small area.
