E-commerce is getting smarter

Kogifi's president, Tomasz Gibas, gave an interview to the Newseria portal, in which he talks about the newest trends in E-commerce and the challenges facing the industry. The main topics are the entry of artificial intelligence into e-commerce and the use of virtual and augmented reality to better tailor the offer to the needs of today's customers.

About Smart Commerce

- Smart commerce is the evolution of e-commerce, i.e. technologies that help sell on the internet. Online stores already know that online trading is not just about displaying a product to the store, but also the implementation of many additional elements that help in this sale, whether by attracting traffic to this site, personalizing information about the product on the site, whether it's store availability in the v-commerce channel - interaction with the voice-based e-store. This is the whole environment that encourages the customer to be in touch with the store all the time - emphasizes Tomasz Gibas, president of Kogifi in an interview with Newseria Innovations.

The role of artificial intelligence in e-commerce

- One of the elements that are supposed to provide the technology with an element of intelligence ("smart") is, of course, its extension with artificial intelligence based on deep machine learning so that the information displayed to the client is best suited to his preferences and needs. In addition, its combination with elements of the Internet of Things allows you to create interactions in the real world, e.g. helps find the way in shopping malls, or leads to products that interest us in the store. There are plenty of applications - says Tomasz Gibas.

Augmented and virtual reality

- Augmented reality and virtual reality play an important role in smart commerce, which allows the client to become thoroughly acquainted with the products offered. In this way, you can see products not only on the monitor, but directly on the desk or via a mobile phone in augmented reality or after wearing a helmet - in virtual reality - indicates the expert.

In the further part of the interview, President Kogifi touches on the topics of voice search, its development on the Polish market and how the global e-commerce market will develop.
