The challenge

In 2020, the British Council decided to update the IELTS website, www.ielts.org, which it jointly manages with IDP, IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.  The IELTS website is home to the world's most popular and recognised English language speaking test, allowing people from across the globe to work, study and live in English speaking countries.

However, as a website accessed by millions of students, teachers and institutions every year, the previous interface lacked accessibility, responsiveness and a resemblance of current digital trends.

Therefore, a complete overhaul was required, factoring in the many important functions the website provides for various strands of the organisation.
