Project overview

Project brief

Regal Rexnord moved from on-prem Sitecore XP to a headless Sitecore XM Cloud with a Next.js hub-and-spoke model, cutting maintenance and speeding up site launches while enabling brand-specific tweaks via a shared component library. Azure-hosted microservices and automated lifecycles streamlined operations and integrations, delivering faster time-to-market, scalable performance, and greater agility. This composable, cloud-native platform now underpins resilient, high-performance global brand experiences.

Challange

A fragmented digital ecosystem hindering scalability and marketing autonomy

The client managed a large portfolio of brands spread across multiple, disconnected platforms (including Sitecore XP and other CMS solutions).

Lack of a centralized content model led to:

  • Marketing teams were heavily dependent on IT for launching new sites or landing pages, which slowed time-to-market and limited flexibility.
  • The key challenge was to establish a “hub and spoke” model, enabling central governance and reusable components while allowing individual brand sites (spokes) to be quickly deployed and customized.

Our solution

Migration to Sitecore XM Cloud with a composable architecture and Coveo integration

  • Transition from the monolithic Sitecore XP to a modern, headless XM Cloud platform, enabling a composable DXP approach.
  • Built a central Hub with a library of reusable components, templates, and layouts to accelerate the creation of new spoke sites.
  • Leveraged Next.js and TailwindCSS for building a lightweight, JAMstack-based frontend, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Integrated Coveo Search to deliver intelligent, personalized search experiences across all sites.
  • Streamlined deployment and release processes with XM Cloud DevOps and Edge Delivery, enabling automated CI/CD pipelines.

Outcome

Significant improvements in efficiency, speed, and marketing independence

Productivity | Time Savings | Deployment Speed | Page Load Speed | Google Lighthouse Scores | Go-to-Market Speed

  • Time-to-market has been reduced by 35–50%, with fewer bottlenecks and more predictable QA cycles.
  • All current sites achieve scores around 90, reflecting strong performance, accessibility, and SEO compliance.
  • Websites built on XM Cloud have 50% faster load times, with major improvements in LCP and user experience.
  • Content updates and deployments are 2x faster, with changes rolled out in minutes rather than hours or days.
  • Building new spoke sites now takes 50% less time, due to parallel workflows and minimal backend dependencies.
  • Development cycles are 25% more efficient thanks to reusable component structures and improved team collaboration.
  • duplicated work when building new websites,
  • difficulties maintaining brand consistency,
  • high operational and maintenance costs.

Real impact,
real voices

Thanks to XM Cloud with NextJS and TailwindCSS, we’re 25% more efficient and build new sites in half the time. Publishing updates now takes minutes - twice as fast as before - and our sites load 50% quicker, with LCP improvements and Lighthouse scores around 90. Overall, go-live timelines have dropped by 35–50% thanks to faster builds, fewer blockers, and more predictable QA.
