What is the difference between Sitecore XM and XP?

Sitecore XM is Experience Manager, the content management foundation. It covers authoring, publishing and delivery of content across sites.

Sitecore XP is Experience Platform. It includes XM and adds marketing capabilities, such as the Experience Database, analytics, personalization rules and marketing automation.

Both are deployed on your own infrastructure or hosting. Cloud options such as XM Cloud and SitecoreAI are the current direction, and XP and XM remain supported.
