Project overview

Project brief

Kogifi rebuilt RAC’s legacy intranet into a modern, bilingual (English/Arabic) SharePoint Online root site — preserving relied-on features, adding custom capabilities, and focusing on accessibility, performance, and editorial ease. Delivered with SPFx custom components, Power Platform automation and M365 integrations, the new intranet centralises communication, systems and knowledge for ~501–1,000 employees.

Scope: Home, For You, Systems, News & Announcements, Company, Knowledge, Blogs (mix of OOTB + custom).

Platform & tech: SharePoint Online, SPFx (React), Power Platform (Power Automate), Microsoft Graph API, M365 integrations.

Scale: 501–1,000 employees; content migration from legacy intranet.

Key outcome: A fast, accessible, bilingual intranet centralising communications, systems and knowledge with improved editorial control and integrations.

Challange

We delivered a purpose-built SharePoint Online solution combining information architecture, custom development, integrations and migration support:

  • Information architecture & navigation — defined seven hubs (Home, For You, Systems, News & Announcements, Company, Knowledge, Blogs) and structured content types for quick discovery.
  • Custom SPFx development — built React-based web parts and application customizers to faithfully implement the new design and extend SharePoint capabilities (news listings, systems catalog, knowledge widgets).
  • Integrations & automation — used Power Automate for notifications and approvals and Microsoft Graph API for Outlook / Teams integrations to reduce context-switching.
  • Bilingual & RTL support — implemented mirrored layouts and consistent component behaviour for English and Arabic, ensuring a first-class RTL experience.
  • Performance & security — applied front-end performance best practices and aligned permissions with Microsoft 365 tenant policies.
  • Content migration & editorial readiness — migrated key news and legacy content, produced editor manuals and ran editor training sessions to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Delivery approach — iterative sprints with daily client touchpoints and close UAT collaboration to validate functionality and design fidelity.
